COMMERCIAL

BOZEMAN BREWERY

As a developing project, this one has a strong sense of community. The design inspiration came from the topographic map of the area that the brewery has made into merchandise. Along with the topography, native plants have been selected for this mass planting design.

Composing the plant selection for this project I thought including a bloom chart would be beneficial to get an idea of how the space will look all year round, while making sure to choose plants that provide color year round for a business that is busy all year round.

When thinkng about the plant combinations I was considering what the plant looks like all year round and not forgetting about foliage color and texture as part of the decision making process. Several native plants have a lot of texture and interesting foliage which helps provide that year round seasonal interest.

SALVATION ARMY

This City of Bozeman project is one of the firsts with the new city landscape and irrigation code. Two main focuses for this project was to make sure we are not exceeding the turf lawn area requirements and meeting the required plant areas.

With the City of Bozemans’ new code about to be finalized, this project I reviewed the draft of the new code to make sure this project met those requirements for the prescriptive pathway. This is when I created a Land F/X template with Montana-friendly and drought tolerant plants to use on this project and bringing that to life in the AutoCAD plan.

TRI-COUNTY

COUNTERTOPS

This commercial design is a City of Belgrade project that also encompasses the Yellow Iron Subdivision. This project completes the requirements of both the city and the subdivision with proper screening, foundation planting, and lawn requirements.

This Belgrade project was the first design I did for the city. I made sure to review the code for the City of Belgrade to meet those requirements along with the subdivisions’ requirements to create a well thought out plan.

VELOCITY CAR WASH

This City of Bozeman project is a demolition and rebuild project. This is an ongoing design that involves communication with the city and the civil engineers and architects to create an efficient and functional design that meets the city’s requirements.

My task on this project was to create a planting design that matched the neighboring commercial buildings to create a cohesive flow throughout the area.
