HRDC BOZEMAN

EXPANSION

In my last semester of college, my partner and I collaborated with HRDC Bozeman in an effort to provide them with a short-term plan for the Warming center, a long-term plan for the expansion behind the warming center, and a rooftop design - As a team my partner and I created this master plan combining the short and long-term plans. My partner took the lead on the warming center and I took the lead on the rooftop.

WALLY BYAM PARK

This conceptual design for Wally Byam focuses on the health and well-being of the MSU community. Through personal experiences as MSU students, my partner and I felt there was a need for a designated relaxing and restorative space. It was determined that the area surrounding Wally Byam Park lacked sufficient outdoor seating and opportunities for outdoor interaction. To accommodate this, the redesigned park aims to encourage engagement with a meditative labyrinth, pathways, and reflective spaces that additionally function as outdoor study areas. As something that is not currently available to the MSU community, the park will serve as a beneficial space for all.

MIXED-USE

COMMUNITY SPACE

Mixed-use zoning can be a wonderful blank canvas for a landscape designer. As someone passionate about public projects that benefit the community I don’t see zoning as an obstacle, it allows for so many opportunities. In a mixed-use space, a design can combine the needs of a neighborhood to get people outside and enjoying the space together. This school project is an example of that with plenty of green space, office space, and a social gathering space that everyone can use.
